jydge

JYDGE has an unpronounceable name, is out for PC and consoles

J-eye-j? Jidj-y? Jay-why-dee-jee-ee?

Back in the day we had games called things like Warmonger 7, or Epic Battle IV, or Ground Shooters, but now we have games whose names are strings of letters or numbers and you can practically hear the sound of a thousand SEO agencies collectively groaning. But hey, here’s a game with a ludicrous name that’s also quite pretty and reviewing exceptionally well!

It’s JYDGE, and 1) the screenshot above shows an establishment called Noodle Biscuit – NOODLE BISCUIT – and 2) it’s just been released on Steam as well as all the console machines. From developers 10Tons, who’ve released an extraordinary number of fairly decent games over the past few years, it’s been getting some good initial press, although that’s limited to just a couple of reviews for the time being.

Says the Steam page:

Build your JYDGE. Enter Edenbyrg. Get out alive. Build your own cybernetic JYDGE in this lawful-but-awful roguehate top-down shooter where you get to eradicate crime in the never-sleeping megacity of Edenbyrg.

“Roguehate top-down shooter.”

Anyway! It’s usually 11 quid, but on Steam at least it’s discounted by 20% during launch week.
