OrbusVR

OrbusVR MMORPG released on Steam

The first fully-realised online virtual reality RPG enters early access.

OrbusVR features everything you love about an MMO: a huge open world, dozens of hours of quests following an intriguing story, interesting lore and characters, dragon pets, five-player group dungeons, world bosses, voice chat, player trading, and more! Plus you’ll be part of a world brimming with thousands of other players.

There’s plenty to do on your own in OrbusVR. The main story quest alone provides more than 20 hours of content for you to enjoy, as you learn about the new realm and its inhabitants. While you’re doing that, seek out the Explorer’s League and aid them in uncovering the long-lost secrets of the world. And of course you can attempt to make your way as a merchant, crafting and acquiring valuable items to offer for sale at your market stall, or via player trading.

Says the developer, Orbus Online, of the early access release:

We have spent the last year building OrbusVR alongside our terrific community in an open and transparent process.  That has included a closed alpha and closed beta period, each lasting several months.  During that time, the game was build, refined and tested to create something that wasn’t just a tech demo, but a fully-functioning game.

Despite OrbusVR being currently in early access, there is a substantial amount of content already.  Four classes are playable, including two ranged classes, a caster and a melee class.  You can combine ingredients in the alchemy crafting class, enchant your weapons and armour with artificing, or kick back and go fishing.  There’s already more than 20 hours of questing available, plus group dungeons, world bosses and an engaging story.

The virtual reality aspect of OrbusVR is, of course, what sets it apart from other MMORPGs.  Both HTC Vive and Occulus rift are supported.  If you are a fan of MMORPGs and/or VR, you can pick up OrbusVR early access on Steam for £34.99 ($46.88).
