Contraptions Parkour

Puzzles and parts in Contraptions Parkour trailer

Construct vehicles, solve puzzles, or just blow stuff up.

Brazilian developer Juliocdec has released a trailer for his vehicle-building puzzle game Contraptions Parkour, and it looks intriguing to say the least. The player must design machines using various templates and blocks, in order to traverse obstacles, move objects, jump gaps, and so on. As you progress through the levels, you can unlock more sophisticated blocks and templates. Or, you will be able to mess around with your creations and blow stuff up.

In conversations on Reddit, Juliocdec mentions his inspirations for the game, including the medieval engineering game Besiege which was released on Steam in 2015 to very positive user reviews. Contraptions Parkour is similar, but with more of a minimalist and modern look, and a focus on puzzle solving rather than fighting.

The game is still in an early stage of development, and it may be some time before it gets even early access release. The complexity of the engineering combined with the realistic physics should produce a very interesting game, although hopefully by the time of release there will be slightly more interesting scenery. If you want to support Contraptions Parkour then keep an eye on its IndieGoGo page, where a crowdfunding campaign will be launching soon.
