Super Meat Boy

Super Meat Boy releases the carnage on Switch

The perfect platformer joins the Switch’s growing library.

If you’ve not yet played Super Meat Boy and you own a Switch, you really don’t have an excuse any longer.  The full game is available from today, and contains the current updates that have been added to the PS4 and PS Vita, released back in 2015.

Super Meat Boy grants you control over Meat Boy, on a mission to rescue his girlfriend, Bandage Girl, from the evil (and quite hideous) Dr Fetus.  Infamous for it’s difficulty, the game requires incredibly accurate control and the reaction time of a ninja.

The switch version brings with it a two player split screen mode, with a Joy-Con each.  As the controls are incredibly light (run and jump), this seems perfect for the simple Switch controller.  There are more than 300 levels to play through, so be prepared to invest a lot of time with Meat Boy.

Once you’ve played Super Meat Boy (and inevitably developed a loev-hate relationship with it), you’ll be pleased to learn that the developers, Team Meat, you’ll be pleased to learn that the sequel, Super Meat Boy Forever is expected to release this year.  We’re pretty excited, and it came second place in our top 10 most anticipated indie games of 2018 article.

From today, you can purchase Super Meat Boy on the Nintendo eShop for £11.99 / $14.99.
