The Crooked Man

The Crooked Man creeps onto Steam

Experience the beginning of cult hit series The Strange Man.

In The Crooked Man, you play as David Hoover, who has recently moved to a new apartment during a rather rough time in his life.  In the midst of him struggling to deal with his current situation, David starts to experience some odd occurrences in his apartment, and decides its best to ask a little about the former tenant.

Strangely compelled to learn more about this man, David sets off in search of him, hoping to find answers to his questions.  The Crooked Man features classic RPGmaker 2D graphics and horror-adventure exploration gameplay with action elements.  There’s a wide range of quite extreme violence, and jump scares, so this isn’t one for those who get scared by tamer horror games or jump at the slightest sound on a silent night.

There are multiple endings to The Crooked Man, of course most of them being bad endings.  The three chapters that follow The Crooked Man in The Strange Man series from Japanese developer Uri Games will also be released onto Steam in the future, though there’s no release schedule for these yet.

You can already download The Crooked Man for free, however if you wish to support the Steam releases of the further chapters in The Strange Man series, you can also purchase The Crooked Man on Steam for £2.09 / €2.99 / $2.99.

If you’re a fan of Japanese RPG games you should check out the excellent and unusual Yume Nikki.  Those already familiar with it can check out the Dream Diary podcast that tells the story of Yume Nikki.
