Spectrum Break

Spectrum Break launches today on Steam

Light up neon-colored environments and don’t fall!

Spectrum Break

Spectrum Break, a synthetic physics platformer, releases today on Steam. The game was developed by a single developer, Jason Hein.

Your goal is to touch all the blocks in a level, causing them to light up in neon colors. Touching every block allows you to move on to the next level. Blocks float in zero gravity, but standing on them causes them to sink downward and hitting them from any other direction moves the blocks accordingly.

Although the goal is simple enough, some levels are more difficult than they appear and require planning or precise platforming skills. For instance, some levels have no solid surfaces except for the blocks themselves, so you have to be quick and precise or you’ll fall off the stage.

There are also different types of blocks. For instance, some blocks are connected to others by white lines that you can use to jump from to reach greater heights. Some blocks greatly increase in size a few seconds after touching them.

Fifty-five levels await, and each level has a hidden block to find. Spectrum Break also has support for speedruns in the settings, so you can test your best times easily without the need for speedrunning software.

Spectrum Break is now available on Steam for $14.99 USD.
