Subaeria splashing out of Early Access

An isometric puzzler from part of the team responsible for Cuphead. 

Canadian indie studio iLLOGIKA announced today the end of the Early Access stage for their underwater isometric puzzler Subaeria and its definite release date, scheduled for April 24th on PC and Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles. The final version will include a revamped story line, fixed bugs, and newly designed story missions and levels.

Indie Studio iLLOGIKA has been responsible for part of the development of award winning nostalgic arcade game Cuphead and the mobile versions of franchises like Tomb Raider (Lara Croft Go) and Hitman (Hitman Go). With Subaeria, these Montreal based developers take a big step forward on consoles and PC (Cuphead was mainly developed by Studio MDHR.

Subaeria is a subaquatic isometric 3D puzzler action puzzler that tells the story of a young girl, Styx, looking for revenge after seeing her family murdered by the ruler of the city. The game promises a quite deep story driven experience as new secrets and bits of the lore of Subaeria are uncovered with player’s progress.

With the help of her little battle drone, Styx will have to defeat several hordes of enemies using her brain and a carefully thought strategy. If well executed, she can make her enemies destroy each other and use their abilities to her advantage.

With each new level imposing a stronger and smarter challenge, Subaeria taunts puzzle solving lovers and strategy combat enthusiasts. As the latest press release states, the game includes the following features:

  • Pit your enemies against one another and the environment to defeat them.
  • Use skills equipped to your drone to influence your robot enemies and Styx.
  • Every room is a puzzle to be solved with the skills you have on hand.
  • Unlock different skills, buffs and skins at each play through.
  • Explore a new labyrinth at every play session.

Subaeria’s early access version is now available on Steam for $14.99 USD and will be released on April 24 for the same price on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
