Canadian Bishop Games will bring their awaited platformer to PC and Nintendo Switch.

Award Winning and anticipated fantasy 2D platformer Light Fall will launch this April 26th on both PC and Nintendo Switch while Canadian based studio Bishop Games enjoy the huge amount of hype and praise over their much anticipated, amazingly looking new adventure.

Best Hardcore Game (Game Connection Europe 2017), Winner Grand Prix (Catapulte 2016) and an Official Selection (Indie Arena Booth Gamescom 2017) are just some of the wide variety of mentions and awards that Light Fall has already harvested through its many presentations around the world in the last year or so. The truth is that this new entry on the platformer genre promises an immersive gameplay experience and an interesting story to follow.

Both graphics and music look and sound awesome in the trailer above posted, and with its release date now defined, fans of the genre can expect to get their hands on Ligh Fall pretty soon.

Light Fall

As Bishop Games’ latest press release states, these are the following key features of Light Fall:

  • The Ultimate Freedom: Control the Shadow Core, a magical box beneath your feet that can be used and controlled at will, to propel yourself into the air and move across the land in the way that you see fit to face the challenges of the game. With the Shadow Core, you become the master of your surroundings and create your own path.
  • An Immersive Journey: Immerse yourself in Light Fall’s strange universe where darkness prevails over the light. Joining you on this adventure, Stryx the old and grumpy owl, will act as your sidekick and in-game narrator. Depending on his mood, he will either offer useful advice or bluntly mock your failures.
  • A Vast World to Explore: With the Shadow Core in hand, reach new heights and explore every nook and cranny of Numbra. Wander through the Lunar Plain, the Marshlands of Sorrows, the Vipera’s Forest and the Unknown Depths, where shortcuts, alternative paths, hidden collectibles and easter eggs await you in large numbers.
  • Speedrun Competition: Quench your thirst for competition in the complementary Speedrun Mode. Revisit the world of Numbra and experience exclusive levels where the difficulty has been drastically increased. Compete with players worldwide and compare your fastest times with theirs on the online leaderboard.

What seems to make Light Fall really stand out from its competitors is the freedom and exploration aspects that Bishop Games have stated as one of the most revolutionary changes for these types of games. Hardcore Gamer said that “It expands the platforming genre”, while IGN stressed the “Stark Beauty” of the game.

All in all, Light Fall really seems to be generating some buzz in the indie scene and we know many of you can’t wait to try it out. You can add it to your Steam Wish List right now, while you wait for its release also on Nintendo Switch later this month.
