Aragami creeps its way onto Xbox One

What’s in the shadows?

The stealth hit Aragami has sold over 400,000 copies to date and is now hoping for similar success on Xbox One.

Aragami: Shadow Edition, a game heavily inspired by old-school stealth classics like Tenchu and Metal Gear Solid, casts you as an undead assassin with the power to control the shadows.

Here, the emphasis is on bringing back the challenge older stealth games posed – as David Leon, the Lead Designer, describes: “We are huge fans of stealth games, but we feel that in the last few years ‘stealth’ in games has been diluted and doesn’t pose the same challenge. We wanted to fix that with Aragami, where you are outmatched, outnumbered, and alone.”

The game proffers two contrasting playstyles, which are interchangeable throughout the game. You can use your powers to play as a Ghost, remaining undetected and getting to your target without a sound, or play as a Demon, slaying anyone in your path. Whether you’re a bull in a china shop or as quiet as a mouse, this game doesn’t reward one style over the other.

The Shadow Edition for Xbox One includes the original base game, the upcoming expansion Aragami Nightfall (trailer here) and all currently released DLC. The game and expansion support full 2-player online co-op that is cross-platform with PC platforms.

Aragami: Shadow Edition will launch simultaneously alongside the release of the expansion in the next few months for $24.99 / €24,99 / £19.99.
