A Plague Tale: Innocence swarms E3 with new trailer

Focus Home Interactive presented their new dark survival story set in 12th century France.

Indie studio Focus Home Interactive and Asobo joined forces and went with full force into E3 2018, presenting a new trailer for their upcoming dark-toned narrative-driven survival game A Plague Tale: Innocence. The presentation showcases the two main protagonists through some amazing graphic quality an a mysterious environment set in 12th century France.

A Plague Tale: Innocence tells the story of two siblings, a young woman and a little boy, who find themselves amidst a deadly rat plague raging with unlimited hunger and devouring everything in its way. The trailer shows a protective older sister taking care of a clearly ill or crippled (in some way at least) younger brother.

Even without any gameplay, this trailer manages to successfully portray both the setting, the general tonality and the main characters (Amicia and Hugo) and antagonists of the story. A police officer being swarmed and eaten by a wave of rats is enough to describe the latent dangers of this world.

A Plague Tale: Innocence

“In the disease-devastated villages, countryside and battlefields, they devour everything in their path, men and animals alike, to satisfy the endless hunger of their ever-increasing numbers. The faint glow of the flame Amicia holds appears to be the only thing that repels this uncontrollable and voracious mass’s relentless advance…”, reads Focus Home Interactive’s E3 press release.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is scheduled to be released at some point in 2019 for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One, so there’s still going to be some time before we can get our hands on this stunning looking story.

The devs, however, have given us some details about the absent gameplay in the trailer. As the have explained, this experience will be “blending adventure, action and stealth, supported by a compelling, moving story”.

We’ll let you know as soon as there are more details available about it, but as of now we can say that, at least, it looks and feels awesome.
