Tropico arrives to iPad later this year

Mobile players will be able to live the dictator’s dream.

The critically acclaimed city builder and parodical dictator simulator, Tropico, will arrive later this year for iOS on iPads all around the world. Indie developers at Kalypso Media have placed their trust on worldwide AAA games publisher company Feral Interactive for the release of the first game of the Tropico series in its full form and with no in-app purchases.

For those new to the Tropico franchise, players take the role of El Presidente, thirsty for power and wealth leader with the tools to become a democratic figure or a cruel dictator. Manage resources, choose which type of governmet you want to develop and which rights your citizens enjoy.

Track down opposing men and women, establish a military dictatorship and keep filling your off-shore account with dirty money as your city grows, commerce nourishes and you ally your little country with big superpowers for different benefits.

“We are thrilled to be working with Feral Interactive to further expand the Tropico IP to iPad gamers across the globe,” said Marcus Behrens, Publishing Director for Mobile at Kalypso Media. “Tropico has captured the hearts and imagination of millions of gamers during its 17 year history and this transition to tablet takes the brand on a whole new and exciting journey.”

Tropico will be available for iPads later this year.
