Bossa Studio’s next game sounds highly ambitious.
We recently had the chance to sit down with industry veteran, Chet Faliszek at Develop Brighton to discuss the latest game Bossa Studios are working on and what makes it so different to everything they’ve done before.
“Left 4 Dead was the game I wanted to play and then we made it, and now this is the game I’ve been wanting to play over the previous years,” said Faliszek.
Chet Faliszek is predominantly known for his work at Valve where he was involved in the writing of the Half-Life, Left 4 Dead and Portal series’ among other things. In 2017 after 12 years at Valve Faliszek announced on Twitter he was joining Bossa Studios to “direct an unannounced PC action co-op game trying to do something new in the narrative space using AI.”
Speaking to The Indie Game Website at this week’s Develop Conference, Faliszek said: “I play these other games and I’m like I love this part of it and then they pull me out of the parts I like. So we are trying to make a game that is just that part, just that part where I look at a problem as a player and I go, I can do anything I want to solve this problem.”
The game Bossa Studios are building sounds highly ambition and requires advanced AI to manage the player’s freedom of choice, as Faliszek alluded to in his keynote talk at Develop, titled ‘The Future of AI in Games Creation’. If it’s anywhere near as brilliant as some of the previous games Faliszek has worked on then we’re certainly in for a treat.
We’ll have more news on Bossa Studio’s ambitious, new narrative game to share soon.
