This Is The Police 2 gets new trailer before its release

Core mechanics and storylines hinted in this new tease while we wait for August 2nd.

Belarus based indie studio Weappy and publishers at THQ Nordic delivered today a new trailer for their narrative-driven police management simulator This Is The Police 2. This new title on the series will add some new interesting features like tactical, turn-based combat and a new location with new secrets to uncover.

The sequel of critically acclaimed This Is The Police, launched in 2016, will take on its core mechanics like police officer management, budget control and a close relationship with crime lords, but will add new and great looking new features, which also include a clear doubling down on the narrative aspect and graphic novel characteristics.

In this new trailer we’re able to see a single take that sweeps through a bunch of what seem to be iconic staples of This Is The Police 2: a cold town covered by snow, dodgy police action, drugs, cults and power struggle. All of this covered in a tranquil soundtrack hiding what will probably be a new tragic story.

This is the Police 2

“Just like the first game, the hard-hitting sequel is a mixture of adventure and management genres, and this time it benefits further from game mechanics that will strengthen both the strategic and tactical parts of the game. It won’t be enough just managing the equipment of your policemen and keeping in mind their individual skills. Every challenge requires the player’s direct participation on a tactical combat scene, and the outcomes will depend on every decision you make. Now your subordinates aren’t just a resource; they are living people with their own strengths, weaknesses, fears and prejudices, and you’ll have to reckon with all these things in order to survive.”, reads the game’s latest press release.

This Is the Police 2 is coming to PC, Mac and Linux as digital version on August 2nd 2018. It will also launch on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X later this autumn.
