This Is The Police 2 gets early release today

The awaited sequel to Jack Boyd’s story is out now and ready for duty.

Publishers at THQ Nordic announced today an early release launch for This Is The Police 2, developed by Minsk based indie developers at Weappy Studio. The awaited sequel for the critically acclaimed narrative driven, police management game This Is The Police, released back in 2016, is out today and two days ahead of the scheduled release date, originally planned for August 2nd.

While you wait for our review on this new installment on Jack Boyd’s saga as a police chief dealing with the mafia and the everyday sight of corruption, we can already tell you that This Is The Police 2 works from the greatly praised game base of its first title and goes much deeper into narrative and tactical aspects.

Boyd is back but on the run after the events that went down in Freeburg and is now taking refuge in the small, covered in snow town of Sharpwood, which is in desperate need of some real police work. Well, we’ll save the rest of the story bits for our review piece.

What we can say is that the new turn-based tactical special missions inserted into the police management sim map are a big change from the spectator formula seen in This Is The Police. Anyway, it’s distinct voice acting, animation and overall aesthetics remain as unique as ever. One more thing that has remained the same is its characteristic noir feeling.

THQ also published a fresh launch trailer with the game’s release in order to tease fans even more and get them aboard this new story, with new bits of its story and new characters.

This Is The Police 2 is out now on PC for Windows and Linux, with Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch launches planned for later this year.
