Retro couch play brawler Coffee Crisis hits Xbox One

Beat up aliens while high on caffeine, listening to heavy metal.

Coffee Crisis is a local-cooperative pixel-art action brawler set in the city of Pittsburgh. Take on the role of baristas Nick and Ashley and hit the streets to kick the ass of alien invaders. The Smurglian race has come to Earth and they’re not leaving until they steal our four most prized commodities: metal music, the best coffee, cat videos, and all the WiFi. Challenge them through unique and innovative levels inspired by real-life areas in Pittsburgh, PA. Join Black Forge Coffeehouse baristas Nick and Ashley, two galaxy gladiators called to arms to stop this madness and remove the Smurglian threat from Earth.

Coffee Crisis features hand drawn sprites, destructible environmental items, and a rogue-inspired Death Metal mode with over 50 modifiers. Take advantage of the custom Twitch & Mixer integrations that allow viewers to help the streamer, hurt the streamer, or just make each stream more Metal.

Zack Manko of developer Mega Cat Studios pondered: “Is there somebody on Earth who wouldn’t love to smash a greedy alien face while listening to heavy metal? Bringing Coffee Crisis to Xbox One is a goal we are very proud of achieving.”

The game launched on Xbox One today, with a Nintendo Switch release expected soon. You can also get Coffee Crisis on Steam, priced at £4.79 / $5.99 / €4.99. There’s even a cartridge version available on the official Coffee Crisis website.
