Celeste nominated for Game of the Year

The sole indie contender for Game of the Year nominated for multiple awards.

Celeste, not content with merely being one of the highest rated games on Steam (with 97% of all reviews being positive), has now been nominated for Game of the Year.

Contending with massive AAA titles such as God Of War, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Monster Hunter: World, Celeste is the sole indie title amongst the nominees.

Celeste has not only been nominated for Game of the Year, but in fact every award category that it was considered for. This includes the awards for Best Score/Music, Games for Impact and Best Independent Game.

The game has received unanimous praise since it’s release early this year, earning a 9/10 in our review of Celeste on Switch, and even receiving an elusive 10/10 from IGN and Destructoid.

If Celeste was an unforgettable experience for you, as it seems to have been for many players, you can cast your vote for Game of the Year and the other award categories on the official The Game Awards website. The awards will air live on Thursday the 6th of December at 9pm PT / 2am (on the 7th of December) GMT. We’ll be sure to keep you updated should Celeste take home any awards.
