Futuristic MMORPG Dual Universe reaches Alpha testing

Every Kickstarter backer will have access by the end of 2018.

French indie studio Novaquark has announced today the start of the Alpha testing for their huge, futuristic MMORPG called Dual Universe, in which pre-alpha players have already built and explored an area size close to the one of real life Great Britain in its first playable planet, Alioth.

Dual Universe is a truly massive and ambitious Kickstarter project aiming to grant players a whole universe to explore, build, negotiate and battle through. Politics, warfare and cooperation are just three basic aspects of this title that promises to be out on 2020 with four main pillars that describe it: Explore, Build, Trade, Conquer.

As developers from Novaquark explained during its latest press release, Dual Universe features the following main elements:

  • World Building: terraform the world and build your own secret base, one voxel at a time
  • Create and Save designs: build your own bases and vehicles with voxels. Save designs of what you build by making blueprints
  • Explore and Harvest: go prospecting to find precious minerals. Sell at the NPC market to buy components for your constructs
  • Craft your components: produce the interactive components you need for your bases and ships.

“With feedback from over 4,000 players, our pre-alpha stage was incredibly successful, and we’re thrilled that we have a core community of players who are as passionate about the game as we are. Whilst we’re still unveiling our alpha at this stage, we’re confident that with our community we’ll continue to grow the game into something truly unique in the MMORPG market,” said JC Bailie, Novaquark CEO.

One of the most important news that emerged from Novaquark’s latest roadmap is that every Kickstarter backer, no matter how much money they pledged, will be able to access the Alpha testing phase, aiming to include them all by the end of 2018. The game has raised over €10,000,000 through different means of funding.
