Team17 announces ‘free-zing’ upcoming content for Overcooked 2

Head back to the kitchen for a wintry selection of new content.

Fans of the raucous co-op cooking game Overcooked 2 have something fun to look forward to soon. Developer Team17 just released a quick 30-second trailer teasing something “free-zing” coming to the game.

The short little video features Kevin the dog, who’s been frozen in an iceberg, as well as some chefs running around in what appears to be a frozen tundra. This most likely means we’ll be seeing a wintry mix of new snow and ice levels by way of a free DLC drop.

According to Team17, “Something new is coming to Overcooked! 2. It’s fun, it’s festive and it’s free!” That’s about all we can deduce from the announcement just yet, but it certainly seems like big things are on their way for Overcooked 2 fans.

Previously in October, Team17 released the Surf ‘n’ Turf collection of levels, which included 12 new kitchen including locations like the beach or a summery swimming pool, 3 new chefs, fun tropical recipes, and even new mechanics to have to worry about. Where this particular selection of content gave the game summer vibes, any potential “free-zing” content will undoubtedly be themed around the colder temperatures.

We awarded Overcooked 2 an 8/10 in our full review, with reviewer Noah Graham noting that “Overall, Overcooked 2 is more of the same but with enough of a variation to keep its top spot of being one of the best party games there is to play.”

With the holidays right around the corner, you may want to consider Overcooked 2 for any potential gift-giving ideas you may need. It’s fantastic played solo, but is particularly transformative when enjoyed with friends. Be warned, though – it’s a relationship breaker, just like Mario Party.
