Double Cross

Interdimensional platformer Double Cross release date announced

After a delay in the multiverse, Double Cross is finally arriving.

Toronto based indie developers at 13AM Games (Runbow), together with Headup Games and Graffiti Games, announced today that their new action-adventure platformer Double Cross will be released on January 10th, 2019. This new information comes after a recent delay reported back in October.

The delay announcement had also been joined by a visual revamp and gameplay overhaul that Double Cross went through after its announcement. All this work is now reflected by the game’s latest gameplay trailer, in which we can see more than just a platformer experience, but also a mystery solving, narrative-driven title.

In Double Cross players take the role of an R.I.F.T agent (Regulators of Interdimensional Frontiers and Technology) called Zahra Sinclair in her mission to uncover who’s behind the mask of “The Suspect”, responsible for several mischiefs through the multiverse. Her journey will include gathering clues and conducting a thorough query while obtaining new abilities and upgrades for her powers.

Armed with a handy sling that allows for added versatility in Double Cross’ platformer elements, Sinclair will also have to be on the lookout for Upgradium, a rare multidimensional element that will allow her to upgrade and customize her abilities. Even so, players will have to develop accuracy, timing and precision in order to traverse each level successfuly.

Fireballs, dinosaurs and robotic bossfights will be some of the obstacles that we’ll face in our journey through the multiverse of Double Cross. “Double Cross features a robust investigation system that challenges players to find clues throughout their interdimensional travels and uncover the identity of R.I.F.T.’s mysterious attacker,” said Alex Rushdy, CEO of 13AM Games in its latest press release. “It’s much more than simply finding a clue, as you’ll need to take evidence to the correct R.I.F.T. agent for examination. This gives the game elements of a visual novel that adds layers of depth to the game”, he added.

Double Cross will be available on PC and Nintendo Switch on January 9th for a price of EUR €19.99.
