Spaghetti-Western El Hijo to be published by HandyGames

Every six year old needs their mother.

Berlin-based indie studio Honig Studios have nabbed HandyGames, publishers of This is the Police, Townsmen and Through the Darkest of Times, as a publisher for their spaghetti-western El Hijo. The game, with its eye catching art style, casts you as a six year old boy, searching the western plains for his mother.

Unusually for the Wild Wild West, this narrative is a non-violent one. Instead the young boy, named El Hijo, must use stealth to navigate the dangers of the world. While shaky on his feet at first, this narrative sees the boy gain more and more confidence as he overcomes his challenges, gaining self-confidence and cunning. The more he learns, the quicker he comes up with schemes to get past his foes. On his journey he will find himself in a remote monastery, a harsh and unforgiving stretch of desert and a frontier town rife with crime and villainy.

El Hijo is currently still in production but the studio hopes to release the game at some point in 2019. It will be released for PC, MAC, PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™ and Xbox One. To keep tabs on El Hijo, go over to the games Steam page, or you could keep an eye on Honig Studio’s very stylish website.
