Solo-developed puzzler Fused released this week

Something has broken the network, and you need to fix it.

Fused, a solo-developed puzzle game from Ironsmith Studios, will be released onto Steam Early Access on 5th of January. The game takes place in a future sci fi world, inside a computer network that’s on the blink. This particular network is owned by the ominous sounding ‘Skystar Systems’, the world’s largest computer company.

Along this puzzling journey the player travels through multiple levels of the network passing through barriers and traps, fixing problems via a three colour system. The different colours represent different abilities; red allows the player to phase through barriers, green is to use launch pads and blue is to use speed boosts. The player spawns the fuses and places them in the correct fuse box in order to restore power.

The player takes on the role of the robot NF-01 who has been tasked with fixing the network. As the player progresses through the levels, they will also find spawned data files which can be picked up and read to give extra context to the world. The game is built entirely on an Unreal 4 engine, and makes use of bright colours and interesting lighting to draw the player in. It also has the capability to be played with a VR headset.

Fused will be released onto Steam early access on January 5th.
