Carrier Trail reaches Kickstarter funding goal

A narrative adventure game inspired by Oregon Trail.

Carrier Trail

In just 9 days CrackedGhostGames have surpassed their Kickstarter funding goal for Oregon Trail-inspired Carrier Trail. The game, which was originally entitled Courier Trail, had a modest goal of $800, but in such a saturated marketplace, reaching any kind of funding goal is worth celebrating.

The premise for the game seems fairly straight forward at this early stage. You play are a courier tasked with delivering a parcel to the royal family, meeting a host of interesting characters on the way. According to the game’s Kickstarter page, ‘all the events in-game are randomly generated each time you play’, which is an intriguingly ambitious concept for an adventure game.

The page goes on to state: ”Each event has multiple endings, branches, and choices for you to make to add even MORE randomness and replayability to each run!” With this exciting possibility, we can see why this game has drawn funding in. Combine that with the game’s very on-trend pixel art style (this world is made up of 8,176 hand-drawn pixels) and you have an indie game that could be really promising.

Carrier Trail will now go on to seek funding for it’s stretch goals, and if you would like to contribute you can do so on their funding page.
