Earth Atlantis

Side-scrolling shooter Earth Atlantis out on PC

Become a legendary hunter in this post-apocalyptic underwater “bullet hell” adventure.

After getting very positive feedback from both players and reviewers in its Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions, the hand drawn side-scrolling underwater shooter Earth Atlantis has been released today for PC through Steam. This game was developed by the award-winning indie studio Pixel Perfex and published by Headup Games.

Earth Atlantis is a post-apocalyptic “bullet hell” side-scrolling shooter that takes place in a future of Earth where 96% of it is underwater and the machines created by the now wiped humanity have taken control of this submerged world by adapting their shapes and sizes to resemble wildlife. This concept can remind many gamers of what Guerrilla Games did with Horizon: Zero Dawn and the mechanical dinosaurs, stags, crocodiles and other specimens.

This game is also being promoted as having a sort of “monster hunting” element to it, represented by its challenging boss fights with legendary impossible creatures living in the dark corners of this submerged new world. This is also reinforced by the overall goal of the game being becoming a mythic hunter.

As we progress through the game different ships, weapons and abilities will become available for us to equip and keep exploring increasingly dangerous depths surrounded by some gorgeous hand drawn, sketchy visuals that provide Earth Atlantis with a pretty unique look.

Headup has listed the game’s main features as follows:

  • Original side-scrolling shooter with a monster-hunting objective
  • Unique “Old Sketching” visual style
  • Two game modes: Quest mode, Hunter mode
  • 4 Playable ships with unique weapons
  • 25 large monsters and 4 enemy ships to hunt with 12 special events to complete

Earth Atlantis has been awarded with the “Vermilion Gate” Award during the 5th BitSummit 2017 in Kyoto, and the “Excellence in Art” Award during BIC Festival 2016 in Busan. It’s available as of today for PC users through Steam for $14.99, €14.99, £11.99 and a 20% off special discount price during launch week.
