8-Bit Armies is SOEDESCO’s next limited edition run

As well as the base game, there are lots of extras up for grabs

Today it was announced that 8-Bit Armies, developed by Petroglyph and published by SOEDESCO, is being given its own Limited Edition run by the publisher. It is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Limited Edition copies of the game, with a whole host of extra goodies, will be limited to 6000 copies worldwide per platform and once they are gone, then they are gone. The European version is due out today while the US version is due to release on February 15th. This is not the first time SOEDESCO have released a limited edition of a game. Back in the summer of 2018, they released a similar limited edition bundle for D-Pad Studios’ Owlboy.

“But what is included in this limited edition?”, I hear you ask. Well, along with the base game, you will be getting:

• A numbered Certificate of Authenticity
• A copy of the soundtrack featuring tunes from composer Frank Klepacki
• A game manual
• A Skull Bandana which has been inspired by one of the units in the game
• A Flag
• Three different pins inspired by units in-game
• An army-style patch
• Postage stamps featuring characters from the game
• A papercraft tank
• A metal dog tag

All of this will be presented in a neat embossed collectors box featuring the games logo.

For those of you who haven’t yet discovered 8-Bit Armies, it is a real-time strategy game full of bright colours and blocky “retro” animation. It features plenty of single-player missions, co-op missions, PVP and skirmish modes. Starting off from your HQ, you build your base and units in similar ways to many other RTS games but the simpler design and mechanics of the game means that it is very accessible and a lot less intimidating compares to other games in the genre.
