Thimbleweed Park is free for Epic Games Store users

Turn back the clock with a retro point-and-click adventure. 

The Epic Games Store has been rife with a selection of free games since its inception, and now it’s home to 2017’s retro-inspired point and click game Thimbleweed Park.

It’s currently free via the Epic Games Store, bringing that classic Day of the Tentacle-like flavor back to a PC near you. Based on the classic SCUMM engine adventure games, it finds you exploring the town of Thimbleweed Park with five different characters: FBI agents, a clown, a dead guy, etc. It’s pretty silly, but it’s also pretty fun.

The official synopsis goes something like this:

“A haunted hotel, an abandoned circus, a burnt-out pillow factory, a dead body pixelating under the bridge, toilets that run on vacuum tubes… you’ve never visited a place like this before.

Five people with nothing in common have been drawn to this rundown, forgotten town. They don’t know it yet, but they are all deeply connected. And they’re being watched.”

You can download it for free right now if you have an Epic Games Store account, and it’ll be available until March 7. You’ll need to make sure you register for an Epic Games account, though, and make sure you don’t delete it at any point. Because if you do, you’ll lose out on those cool freebies up for grabs each month. Once Thimbleweed Park is gone, it’ll be time for Slime Rancher to take over, so don’t let this indie adventure pass you by.
