It Lurks Below

Check out the new game from Diablo’s creator

It Lurks Below is out on Steam and ready to save Diablo’s fan base.

You may recognize David Brevnik from globally successful franchises like Diablo and huge companies like Blizzard. Well, while his beloved franchise has been going through a bit of a turmoil recently, he’s been working on a brand new action RPG game with his indie studio Graybeard Games.

Yes, we know that Diablo going mobile was a pretty big shocker. But there’s hope! Brevnik’s new game, It Lurks Below, is officially out on PC through Steam today!

So what exactly is It Lurks Below, you ask? A retro-looking, classic action role-playing game created by none other than one of the masterminds behind Diablo and Diablo II. It Lurks Below has many (if not all) of the features that made those games unique and record-breaking.

Unique character classes, satisfying monster slaying, gratifying skill progression and highly customizable experiences for every gamer. For instance, It Lurks Below features some block building, but if that’s not your cup of tea, then you don’t really NEED to. I hate block building so at least I’ll be scratching that.

It’s quite interesting how Brevnik has decided to come out with a new ARPG not long after his big baby Diablo received popular backlash after Blizzard’s decision of going mobile (and rightfully so, if I might add).

I know, I know, it’s not a 3D isometric game. It’s a 2D pixel-art one, but reviews have been pretty positive so far. Many of these are praising It Lurks Below for delivering a similar experience to Diablo’s, written by gamers who grew up with it. So it’s safe to say that giving it a chance might be a good idea.

Also, Brevnik himself is constantly receiving feedback from the community through the game’s Discord channel.

“With eight character classes to choose from, randomly generated levels, random stats on items, secret areas, bosses, a survival talent tree and three different play modes, it delivers a very different and unique gaming experience”, reads the game description on Steam.

I know I’ll be checking it out.
