Grapple-hook adventure Verlet Swing is Spiderman on a real trip

Like Spiderman, but mental.

There are some titles that are just destined to be streamed. Who wouldn’t want to watch someone swoop and circle around a world made up of huge pizzas, weird heads and meatballs? It’s the kind of wacky fun that always draws an audience, but doesn’t always necessarily keep one.

Verlet Swing is the latest release from Flamebait Games and publisher Digerati, which will be coming to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch on June 14th and on PlayStation 4 on June 11th. You can already get it on PC, where it has received some pretty positive reviews.

It’s easy to see why, the momentum mechanics in this title look super fun. From the trailer we get a glimpse of the kind of obstacles players need to navigate; turn left at the pizza, remember to grab hold of the floating orb and then off onto a huge arcade run by disembodied arms – super simple. It’s all the fun of The Amazing Spider Man Game with absolutely none of the narrative sense.

There are 100 levels to swing your way through. If you’re not satisfied with the manic levels provided to you then you can even make your own, sharing them through the Steam Workshop with all your equally minded trippy friends. Plus, there are some challenge modes for you to explore too. Only the best swingers swing to the increasingly difficult final levels.

We’re pretty sure you’ll be seeing this game on Twitch sometime soon. Wonderful, crazy, nonsense.
