The Epic Store Is Damn Good For Indie Games

Actual free stuff

Now look, the Epic Store isn’t perfect, and I’m not here to tell you it is. It’s still missing some fairly key features, and while it is getting better, it still has a ways to go. However, you’d have to be a fool not to be keeping an eye on the slew of free games that get given out. For example, at the moment you can get Anodyne 2, A Short Hike, and Mutazione for the low, low price of nothing. Literally nothing. Just have an account.

All three of these are extraordinary indie games, each delivering a unique experience that is sure to have you wondering why AAA gaming can’t keep up. The fact that you can get all of them for free is incredibly hard to wrap your head around. Though you can only get them for free until March 19th, so you really should get on that right now if you can.

I can’t speak to the business deals around the Epic Store. I’ve no idea what kind of payout the developers get when a game gets given away for free. There are also arguments to be made about how it affects our views on the price of games because having a game for free does weird stuff to your brain. However, I can definitelly say that as a consumer, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better deal than these three exceptional games for free. Seriously, if you can figure a way to do so, get in touch.
