Bullets Per Minute Brings Rhythm To The FPS

Can you feel it

BPM: Bullets Per Minute dares to ask the question “what if FPS, but funky?” As a result, you’ll have to learn to stay on the beat if you want to succeed in your role as a Valkyrie and repel the forces of the underworld from Asgard. After all, what’s more metal than Norse mythology? Nothing, literally nothing is more metal than that, and that’s why you’ll be matching screaming guitar solos by shooting a bunch of screaming demons.

The best bit, at least for me, is that it’s a roguelike, meaning that you’ll have procedurally-generated levels to battle through, loads of weapons to collect, and no end in sight no matter how well you do. There’s been an uptick in beat-based battling recently, and I’m a big lover of rhythm games, so having them branch into other genres to create new gameplay experiences is really exciting. It helps that the music in BPM really speaks to me too, just listen to it screeching along in the trailer.

Along with the gameplay above, there are also five characters, each of which has different strengths and weaknesses, loads of enemies, a huge amount of different weapons, each of which has their own beat behaviour, and loads of items as well. It just looks like a lot of fun, and it’s currently set to be releasing at some point in August this year, which means we’re in for a lot of treats in a little over a months time.
