Supermarket Shriek Will Have You Screaming For Fun

Shout, shout, let it all out

Shopping is stressful. I mean that all the time too, not just in the midst of everything going on at the moment. In fact, there are often times when walking around a supermarket that can make you feel like just shouting. Well, that’s kind of what Supermarket Shriek is about. Of course, it’s also about the unbreakable bond between a man, a goat, and a shopping trolley. While this may not be a tale as old as time, it’s still a good one, and having actually played the game last year, I’m quite excited to see this unleashed onto the world.

You play as both the man and the goat at the same time. You get one to shout to turn left, and one to shout to turn right. Get them both screaming and you’ll blast forwards. You then have to navigate levels full of conveyor belts, messy aisles, and uh, fire, to make it to the end. It’s all wonderfully absurd, and you can even play it in co-op, with one player controlling the man and one controlling the goat.

It feels a lot like someone took the Taylor Swift songs sung by goats (google that if you’ve never heard them) and turned it into a game idea, but honestly, it’s really good fun. There’s also a mode where you use your microphone to control your character, which means you and another player can basically just shout at each other to win a game. That’s true entertainment. Supermarket Shriek is due out later this year on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PS4.
