PHOGS! Could Be The Cutest Game Of The Year

Cute co-op games might be the most important games around this year. The ability to simply jump into something that will make you and a friend, partner, kid, or random stranger smile, is essential. PHOGS! looks as though it could be the next essential pick up in this style of game, and it’s no surprise that it includes some dogs. The dogs in question are linked together by a single stretch belly, and you’ll need to control to two of them separately to be able to solve some of the puzzles and challenges you’re going to come across.

That’s a cute enough concept as it is, but things get cuter when you look at the levels you’ll be playing through. Each of the levels is based around food, sleep, and play, and it gives the entire game a wonderfully wholesome atmosphere. It’s the kind of game that will have you grinning constantly throughout it. I’ve actually played an earlier version of the game too, last year at Rezzed. At least I think it was last year, time has been weird in 2020.

I had a lot of fun moving the dogs around on my own, but playing it with somebody else is definitely the way to go. It usually helps if somebody is happy to take the lead a little bit, but the pure chaos that occurs when you’re both trying to do something different is its own kind of joy. If that all sounds good to you, then you’ll be happy to know that PHOGS! is out on December 3rd.
