Fight Roguelike Fires In Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue
The life of a firefighter is a tumultuous and tricky one. You’re not battling against people, but against a force of nature. It’s not just any force either, fire is generally considered to be one of the things that literally helped us to evolve. So, you know that if you’re going to be fighting against it that you’re likely in for a tough time. Good news, that’s exactly what Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue has you doing.
Firegirl has you taking control of a young new fire rescue officer who is armed with an axe, and a high-pressure hose so powerful she can even use it as a jetpack. Your aim is simple, go from fire to fire to beat the blaze and save the citizens threatened by each. The thing is, each fire is procedurally generated, which means you’ll have to learn new paths through each level every time if you want to fight fire with, uh, water.
As you go you’ll also unlock new upgrades as you rebuild the firehouse, and these upgrades will allow you to unlock new skills to better fight fires with. Plus, and this is quite possibly the most important part of the whole game, there’s a dog at the base. We don’t know if it helps you, but there is a dog, and frankly, that’s good enough for us. Anyway, Firegirl is releasing next week on the 14th, so you can look forward to mastering the art of the firehose and your axe then.
