Ashes of the Singularity

Ashes of the Singularity content update

The biggest piece of DLC content added to the game yet.

Today Stardock Entertainment and Oxide Games released the Secret Missions DLC for Ashes of the Singularity. There’s a whole heap of new content, including units, scenarios and also maps for both the singleplayer and multiplayer modes, expanding upon the existing game in every degree. They also released a free update for the base game for all users which fixes many issues such as existing audio problems, map balances on select maps and correcting targeting issues for some units. Callum McCole, the games lead designer had this to say about the release of Secret Missions.

“This is our biggest DLC ever, and it expands every key part of the game. The new units open up additional strategic depth by allowing for different compositions and counters. The scenarios are challenging and interesting, and the maps are absolutely massive.”

Secret Missions includes two new frigates, one for each of the playable factions in the game, the PHC Atlas a less expensive alternative to the Apollo cruiser. With the other being the Substrate Tormentor an indirect fire frigate capable of saturating an area with artillery shells. The eight new scenarios included in the DLC cater towards players who enjoy large late game battles and tactical flexibility and vary from commanding PHC forces to take down a rogue post-human or placing you as the last standing Substrate member against waves of PHC. In addition for multiplayer they have added the ability to play matches with up to 14 players with 5v5 and 6v6 modes also being added.
