Indie developers at Harebrained Schemes are ready to launch their Kickstarter funded success.
Publisher company Paradox Interactive and indie studio responsible for the Shadowrun Returns series, Harebrained Schemes, published today a new story trailer for their upcoming turned-based mech battle game, Battletech, announced to be released on April 24th.
This new peek to the studio’s latest title provides a very well deserved hype for a product that has been described by the developers as the “first turn-based tactical ‘Mech combat PC game in over 20 years”. Battletech tells the story of a war-sunken humanity after its expanse through the stars. Players will take control of a mercenary under the orders of the ruler of a noble house trying to regain her rightful place at the throne.
As mercenaries, players will take on contracts for the royal family in exchange of money or the honor of fighting for a good cause, on the edges of civilized space. With the promise of an engaging story and really impressive mech-battle gameplay, Battletech appears to be something to mark our calendars for.
“We’re massively thankful to our Kickstarter backers and fans of the MechWarrior legacy. Without their patience, dedication and support, this modern turn-based BATTLETECH wouldn’t soon be launching on PC and Mac”, said Jordan Weisman, CEO of Harebrained Schemes and creator the MechWarrior and BATTLETECH universe.
And his gratefulness resides in some mind-blowing results from their 2015 Kickstarter campaign that raised a shocking almost $2.8 million out of a $250,000 initial goal. 41,733 people decided to back this project that is now a month away of being released.
“The entire team at Harebrained Schemes has been eagerly awaiting the day we deliver BATTLETECH to long time fans and introduce the joy of tactical ‘Mech combat and deadly interstellar politics to new ones”, added Weisman.
Battletech will be available on April 24th and is ready to be pre-ordered for $39,99 with a Deluxe Edition option.
