Sacralith: The Archer’s Tale loosed onto Steam
Grab your bow-and-arrow and dive into a VR Medieval maelstrom!
Sacralith: The Archer’s Tale is a Medieval fantasy FPS, which is to say that instead of a gun, you must battle waves of fearsome enemies with your trusty bow-and-arrow. Although it’s not strictly an RPG, with more of a focus on archery-based combat, this game is more than simply another archer simulator.
As part of a group of four warriors, your task is to hunt down a mysterious artifact (a magic stone, aka the sacralith) that will allow you to defeat dragons. The story takes you through six levels or episodes, developing your combat strategy as you go, with not only battles but also ‘mysteries, intrigues and sudden plot twists’ to navigate.
Sacralith is a highly realistic archery sim, and you can hone your skills as the game progresses. You can also take advantage of upgradeable magical abilities to improve your ability to cut through human enemies and vicious magical creatures.
As a VR game, Sacralith requires either a Vive or Oculus Rift headset to play. It’s graphics are stunning and have been strongly praised. The game won the prize for best VR game at the White Nights indie game cup, among other awards. Player reviews have been very positive so far. Sacralith was made by Russian developers Odd Meter and is on an opening week 15% discount. Grab it on Steam here.
