Memories of Mars enters Early Access

This online survival shooter challenges even the most skilled players.

505 Games and Limbic Entertainment have announced the beginning of Early Access stage for their online open-world survival game, Memories of Mars. Players can pick it up from Steam  on with a 10% launch discount off the price of £23.99.

Memories of Mars throws players on to the red planet’s unforgiving environment with the goal of surviving its harsh season changes and catastrophic natural events that will challenge even the most experienced and skilled gamers. New screens were also released today, showcasing the dark and desolate world players will awake to on the Red Planet as a clone trying to survive.

Earlier this year, 505 Games and Limbic Entertainment revealed what they defined as the most innovative element in their new game, that being the changing of seasons in real time that enhances the competition between players and the threat of NPCs.

Some of the talents and abilities learned through the season can be backed up and carried over by a series of clones, allowing players the ability to download previous memories of how to build and craft to get a head start on surviving the next season.

Besides just surviving, players will fight to build their own homestead by gathering resources and useful items. Players can team up to explore, gather resources and build defence bases or go rogue and explore numerous locations including abandoned terraforming towers, mining sites, caves, canyons, meteor impact sites and more.

The addition of seasons to Memories of Mars includes an ever changing element of surprise to the experience, also modifying previously visited areas for a renewed feeling, finding a different landscape rearanged after climate events, resulting in added blueprints for creating different weapons and modules, novel enemies, updated events and more.

Memories of Mars is available now in its Early Access form in Steam for £23.99, with a 10% launch discount.
