Mugsters

Mugsters release date announced

Finnish indie studio Reinkout Games and publishers at Team 17 marked July 17th on their calendars.

Finnish indie studio Reinkout Games, paired with international publishers at Team 17, announced today that the physics-based, action puzzle game Mugsters will be released on July 17th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Mugsters is a hillarious game that’s hard to define but, simply put, in it players will have to engage in vehicle battles against alien invaders in a beautiful looking isometric 3D environment. Reinkout Games said in its latest press release that “you must outrun, out-manoeuvre and outsmart your enemies by experimenting with different sandbox levels, vehicles, environmental traps and explosives.”

They’ve also specified some core elements that Mugsters feature:

  • AWARENESS – Have awareness of your surroundings and those around you. Vehicles can help you in various ways so assess your situation before jumping behind the wheel.
  • SAFETY – Every situation can become dangerous if you don’t consider all outcomes. You’ll never forgive yourself for accidentally driving over a cliff…or over your friend.
  • SKILL – Remember that practice makes you better at not crashing into walls and running yourself over. A variety of vehicles means a variety of handling and driving styles so find what works for you!
  • DEFEND – When enemies are massing attack can be the best form of defence. Transform your vehicle into a battering ram and get the heck out of there!

In Mugsters you’ll have to evaluate each level’s hazards, assets, enemies and terrain in order to plan out actions and avoid getting crushed by the aliens or accidentally killed by exploding against a mountain. This title also features a multiplayer mode in co-op fashion. Team up and take on this world-dominating menace with a friend. All the single player campaign missions are fully remixed for full two-player local co-op action.

Mugsters will release on 17th July 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch™ and PC priced at £9.99/€14.99/$14.99.
