A new PC gaming platform is now available for PC and Mac users all around the world.@ of users ready to discover new stories and fun games from a wide range of different indie developers.

Kartridge is live today in its open beta stage and features many elements inspired by today’s Steam’s success, such as community options, rewards and badges. Players can earn Kartridge Tokens by completing games and directly use them to purchase new titles.

The open beta includes 250 titles from over 100 founding developers, including West of Loathing by Asymmetric, Kingdom: New Lands by Raw Fury, Speed Brawl by Double Stallion, and Production Line by Positech Games. Other games that can already be purchased through Kartridge are Grim Fandango, The Banner Saga, Shattered Planet and Psychonauts.

Kartridge’s user interfase looks pretty sleek and easy to use, with a homepage featuring different tabs with games recommended by genre and simple, yet complete options. “Today’s Open Beta launch is really just the starting point for Kartridge,” says Kongregate’s Creative Director of Platform Theresa Chien. “As we keep expanding into a rich social playing experience, players can expect to see great, new games added each month, community events, and plenty of reward opportunities on the platform.”, she added.

Indie developers can upload their games as of today to Kartridge’s market, with tools and analytics available for them to track their title’s progress in the community and sales and “friendly revenue terms”, which allows developers to keep 100% of revenue earned on their first $10,000 in sales.

With this new platform, Kongregate hopes to lead the indie games market, configuring a dedicated site separated from Steam. “We are very excited to finally let players game with Kartridge,” Emily Greer, CEO of Kongregate says. “We’ve pooled all our web, mobile, and PC knowledge to create something we think both developers and players will really enjoy – a streamlined, innovative experience focused on gaming, community, and fun.”, she concluded.
