It’s getting closer and closer to witching hour.
The Astronauts, the developers behind hugely successful narrative adventure game The Haunting of Ethan Carter, have released further information on their second title, Witchfire. In a new blogpost entitled, ”Witchfire, a Year After Reveal”, the team have detailed the game’s current status and future plans for development updates.
Witchfire will be a genre departure for a team that is known for its prowess at creating a haunting narrative, as this title is most predominately a first person shooter. While details about the game are still a little thin on the ground, so far we know that it concerns witches – witches that the player needs to find and kill.
According to the development blog, this shooter is ‘focused on challenge and mastery’, where the ‘roads to the ultimate victory’ are apparently varied and open for exploration. Although there will be ‘lore to discover and decipher’, the game will not lean heavily on narrative to get you enthralled and strongly focuses on the shooter element.
