E3 2019 finally gave us an update on Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Ori and the Will of the let us buy this please.

We’ve known about Ori and the Will of the Wisps, the much anticipated sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest, for a little while now. But finally, during E3 2019, we got some more details. Most importantly, we’ve got a release date. Spoiler, it’s 11th of February 2020, mark it in your calendars people.

Ori and the Blind Forest is an action-platformer Metroidvania that makes you cry within the first 10 minutes, and the Will of the Wisps looks no less emotional. Following Ori in adventures new, with some companions that have more character in a few body movements than most games manage through dialogue, we’re hoping this is going to be just as smashingly successful as the first.

In the trailer we can see the now fully grown Ori travelling through wholly new environments in the world of Nibel, jumping, climbing walls and even shooting missiles at large foes. With a darker and more threatening atmosphere than the previous iteration, we wonder if the developers were a little inspired by the world of Hollow Knight for this new turn.

Other than the release date, details are thin on the ground for this one. We’ll keep you updated if we hear anything else and for now, you can keep an eye on Moon Studios’ website.
