This Visage trailer is the creepiest thing you’ll watch today
Gone Home but really scary.
Visage has all the horror game cliche boxes ticked. Big old creepy house? Check. Mysterious and threatening central figure? Check. First person perspective so you’re not really as aware of your feet as you’d like to be? Check. Jump scares? Oh baby, tick tick tick.
But despite all this, Visage has that kind of compelling horror quality that makes it difficult to look away from your screen, even when you might want to. The new trailer for its episodic early access release is pretty grim in this strange intriguing way. Centring around the character of Dolores, the visuals here are meant to shock and disturb, with the trailer showing our character being attacked and haunted by this woman within the house.
The story unfolds in a similar way to 2013 hit Gone Home. As you explore the big old creepy house, you find traces of the dark events that occurred within it. When you discover certain objects, you will relive the memories of those dark times within the house, and judging by the trailer, those times were extremely dark (and violent, be warned).
The trailer announced the release of the next few episodes of the game in early access, which will bring the total gameplay time up to 4 to 6 hours. This latest release will be on the 3rd of July and will be the last early access release until the game is released in full. How many times did I just type release? Release release release.
