Is this our first real look at Limbo devs new game?

Playdead may have been hiding screenshots of their next title in job listings all along.Playdead

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Playdead, the indie studio behind critically acclaimed platformers Limbo and Inside. They’ve only officially shared one image of the new sci-fi game they’ve been working on for the last few years and that was on Twitter in 2017. As seen above, it shows a pilot of some sort dragging a parachute through the desert as a comet strikes the surface of the planet in the background.

It appears as we’ve all been patiently waiting for more though, Playdead has been casually leaking images of their new game through job listings for the studio. Some of these were posted on Resetera earlier in the year. Now, another two new images have been found showing us another slice of the mysterious new game and its world which you can check out below.

Interestingly, the new artwork does little to show us of the ‘3D’ world developers Playdead have alluded to before. As reported by PC Gamer, Playdead co-founder Arnt Jensen said that the next game will, “move away from the 2D style that Playdead is known for,” and open up to be a “3rd person game with a much larger area that you can move around.”

It’s still unknown when Playdead’s next adventure will release but with more and more images circulating the net anticipation is building behind the big reveal.
