Move over Microsoft Flight Simulator, The Falconeer is on its way

Does Microsoft Flight Simulator see you fighting off attacks on the back of a massive warrior falcon? No, so we’re already doing pretty well with this title comparison. If you’re not entranced by the swooping of this big bird upon immediate watch of the trailer, then I don’t know what to say to you.

The Falconeer is an air-borne RPG, that sees you as the pilot of a fierce and capable companion. The oceanic world you fly over is The Great Ursee, a bleak one, full of the war-wracked locations of vying factions and hidden secrets. Over the course of your lofty exploration you’ll come wing-to-wing with rival falcons, enemy airships, flying beetles, manta rays and ‘deadly dragon weavers’. So there’s plenty to keep you entertained while you’re in flight.

The moody dark blues and heavy oranges of this world are haunting in a beautiful way, with the movement of the falcon seamless as it careens across the sky. With all this beauty The Falconeer is bound to be a title to watch when it comes out on Xbox One in 2020. Made by just one developer, Tomas Sala, it is certainly a bird game a beak above the rest.
