Is Agents: Biohunters the next Fortnite?
Overwatch meets Epic
Multiplayer games are quite often associated with big AAA publishers, but lets not forget that Fortnite, arguably the most successful online multiplayer there is aside from PUGB, started life when Epic Games was still fairly small fry. The experimental environment of indie publishing breeds fantastic new iterations into what can become a repetitive genre, and we’re seeing new exciting developments all the time.
Now, Agents: Biohunters is taking a stab at the online multiplayer arena and it already looks dope. Firstly, it’s taken a leaf out of Fornite’s bright aesthetic handbook, looking like a mix between it and Overwatch with its candy-coloured avatars. The difference here is that the team-based game is set in an almost Monster Hunter World-esque setting, where giant creatures have begun attacking humanity. As a team of agents, you and online players must capture these giant creatures, using a combination of your skills and weapons. But, this task isn’t as easy as it seems, as there is a rival team on the loose with a mission to disrupt.
The game is currently in Early Access, with an aim to get as much player feedback as possible, especially considering this is a game that largely depends on player interaction. The developer’s detail: “The Early Access version contains the Solo Mode with 6 unique characters, 1 motorbike and 1 big creature to hunt. Agents: Biohunters core gameplay is proven and solid, and it’ll only keep getting better.”
We look forward to seeing just how far this game will go. You can get Agents: Biohunters on Steam Early Access now.
