Get Into The Breach for free on Epic today only

The start of something epic.

It’s Christmas at the Epic store and in true Epic form they are giving us fantastic games… for free? Over the course of the next 12 days mystery games will be going up for free on the store, and first up is the highly acclaimed tactical marvel, Into the Breach. It’s only free until 4pm UK time though, so don’t ponder your decision too long.

When we reviewed Into the Breach back in March, we gave it a much fabled 9/10. From the makers of FTL, Subset Games, we wrote of Into the Breach: “[Its] beauty […] lies within the mechanics and how wonderfully they’re intertwined, creating a devilishly simple but deep experience any turn-based game fan will love – or a great starting point for those new to the genre.” Hear that, my fellow turn-based sceptics? This might be a fantastic place for us to start.

The procedurally generated tactical space game sees you warning off an alien threat. Within the games grid system you control powerful mechs from the future and with them, you gotta save the world. But with each threat beaten, more procedurally generated threats come along to solve. As always.
