How And Why To Play Disintegration, Halo Creator’s New Game

Get a sneak peek and some hands-on with the next big shooter.

You might not have heard of Disintegration, the new game from Marcus Lehto, the co-creator of Halo, but it’s worth keeping an eye on. Aside from the obvious fact that Halo is great, so you can probably have high hopes for this too, it also looks to be a genuinely intriguing sci-fi shooter.

Disintegration features both a campaign, where you play as a Gravcycle pilot and shoot stuff and also multiple multiplayer modes, where you play as a team and shoot other players. It looks like a pretty unique take on a multiplayer shooter, mostly because everyone is flying around instead of just sprinting at high speeds through corridors. We’ve not seen a huge amount from the game itself, but that should change in the coming days.

Thanks to the wonders of the modern age, you can sign up to take part in a technical beta by going here. This one runs across January 28th and 29th and is the first chance for people to get their hands on the game itself, which is always a nice bonus for those of you who like being first. If you don’t make it into that beta though, you don’t have too long to wait before you can jump into an open beta on PS4 that starts on January 31st and goes until late February 1st. It’s not a large amount of time in either beta, but it should be enough for you to get a feel for what could well be the next big shooter.

Hopefully, it all works too; beta tests can be a little hit and miss.
