Survive Biblically In Noah’s Ark
That’s a lot of rain
Do you remember I Am Jesus Christ? It got a lot of press a while ago because of its strange premise and commitment to making fish appear magically in first-person. Despite not actually being out yet, the developers behind it have already announced their second game, Noah’s Ark. Not that there’s anything wrong with announcing your second project before your first one is done, it’s just a bit odd. You can’t deny the ambition though, and you’ve got to respect it.
That being said, while I Am Jesus Christ got attention because it looked incredibly weird, I mean, just watch the trailer and wait for the first-person view of crucifixion, Noah’s Ark looks a lot more like an actual game. It’s described as being a “realistic simulator game inspired by those stories from Genesis”. We’re gonna skip past any questions about realism and theology at this point, so don’t expect a 5,000-word essay about whether or not “realistic” and “stories from Genesis” is an oxymoronic combination, because you won’t find it here.
Instead, I just want to point this one out because it looks more interesting, at least as a video game. You have to track and save animals, bring them back to a boat that you yourself have to build, and then try and survive the 150-day storm aboard the ship. It’s an interesting idea for a game, but when it will be out is a mystery, which is a little annoying as it’s nice to have a release window at the very least. But hey, something about mysterious ways, right?
