Don’t just pay a fiver
You can currently, and for the next 7 days, pick up 742 games for five dollars thanks to the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality on itch.io. That’s a stunning amount of value for a tiny price. It includes, and this is a very small list of the games available, Widget Satchel, Loot Rascals, Boomtown, Mutiny Island, The Land of Glass, Idioctopus, and Masks. Honestly, I could list every game here, but it would take far too long and I want you to go and buy the bundle, not tire yourself out reading the game names.
Every purchase goes towards the NAACP Legan Defense and Educational Fund and the Community Bail Fund. It exists because, as itch.io puts it “We live in a time of racial injustice, inequality, and police brutality against black people. We hope that everyone takes a stand in any way that they can. We’ve partnered with creators from all across our platform to support organizations that are working directly with those affected.”
Many games envision a world where things are better or worse. It’s fun to live in a utopia, and it’s just as fun to try and save a dystopia. That escapism isn’t an option for everyone though, because some people live vastly different lives for countless things they have no control over. Hopefully, this bundle will allow things to become fairer, probably not straight away, but doing what you can to help other people out is the sign of a hero, and that’s what most games are all about. You don’t want to be the bad guy in your own story, so it’s important to make sure you support good causes, this one just happens to come with more games then you’ll ever be able to play.
