Second Extinction Asks “What If Dinosaurs?” And We Say Yes

Early Access games can be great or absolutely terrible. Thankfully, those in the latter category are few and far between, or at least in terms of the ones I have played. However, the ones in the former category present their own kind of challenge. Sometimes an Early Access game is so good that you end up annoyed because the entire game isn’t there yet… you know, Baldur’s Gate 3, for example. However, there are games that are both good in Early Access and also not frustrating, and while a lot of those end up being roguelikes like Gunfire Reborn, sometimes you get something a bit different.

Second Extinction is definitely a bit different, as it’s a bit like what would happen if they made a modern-day Turok. You and some buddies set out to try and reclaim an Earth that’s been taken over by incredibly angry dinosaurs. That means there’ll be no petting of the raptors here, as they’ll be far too busy trying to eat your face off instead.

On the plus side though, you’ll get lots of over-the-top weapons to use as you journey around the maps trying to reclaim the areas. It’s also just a pure dumb fun kind of shooter to play with your friends, and it happens to look absurdly good at pretty much all times. It’s very much the kind of game you should have a look at if you like games a bit like Left 4 Dead, and it also happens to be on sale at the moment for nearly another week.
