Become a medieval craftsman and trashman in Castle Flipper
I can’t fathom why cleaning shit up in games feels like an active act of self-care, since my real-life room is pretty much in a state of perpetual disarray. So when I heard about Castle Flipper, a game that allows me to become a medieval craftsman, I leaped at the opportunity to do so in the game’s free demo. Repairing holes in stone walls? Patching up wooden fences? Building a sprawling stone castle fit for a king? Nah, I’d rather pick up random pieces of debris and junk laying about after a village has been ravaged by passing bandits.
There isn’t much to do in the demo for Castle Flipper, but it offers a glimpse of the game’s full release. You begin by receiving requests for repairs and such on a noticeboard, and then fast travel to the location to carry out these out, be it mending broken fences and steps or building a small hut from scratch. You can also renovate and furnish your own humble abode with resources and gold you’ve collected, expand your lands, and decorate your courtyard.
Subsequently, you’ll also explore the countryside and cities that are “inspired by renaissance and baroque architecture”, where you not only get to construct, but also choose the most fitting decor. Eventually, you’ll get the loftiest request of all from your king: to rebuild a conquered castle. Grab a broom and keep things in the castle spick and span!
Fortunately, we don’t have to wait that long to get scrubbing. Castle Flipper will be released later this month on May 27th, but you can get a headstart with its demo.
